Competition Rules

-The Elevato Piano Competition for International Youth 2026 will be taking place in Brno, Czech Republic, July 1-2, 2026

-Pianists of all nationalities may participate.

-The age of the participant is considered as of April 1, 2026

-Duration of repertoire can be exceeded by 1 to 3 minutes maximum (Participants may play slightly longer program depending on the selection of pieces. It is advised not to exceed by too many minutes.)

First/Preliminary Round (Video Recording)

-The Preliminary Round's video recordings are due by June 1, 2026

-The results will be announced by June 10, 2026

Final Round (Live)

-The final round will take place live at the Brno Conservatory, July 1-2, 2026

-The final round is open to the public. The results will be announced on the day.

-Participants from Category F - Concerto (17 and up) are eligible for the concerto performance prizes on the prizes page

-Participants may not make any attempt to be in contact with any of the jury during the competition, and vice-versa. Jury members will not evaluate their own students. 

 

-Participants will be evaluated on a point based system from 80 to 100 points. The final results given by the jury are not subject to change. 

 

-Video applications for the first round must have been recorded by the participant, within the past 12 months. Videos should be recorded in one camera angle, without any editing or changes. Participants’ entire silhouette and hands should be clearly visible.​

 

-Videos are advised to be recorded specifically for the Elevato Competition. Recordings made for other competitions or performances, or performances with orchestra are not recommended.

 

-The name of the pieces should be written in the video's title 

 

-Program change after application is not allowed. 

 

-The solo repertoire must be played by memory. The order of pieces can be chosen by the performer. 

-Participants who apply more than 3x in a row can receive a recommendation letter from the Elevato Piano Competition
